Netflix has announced The Label, a six-episode Italian drama about an independent record company under pressure. Christian De Sica and Claudio Santamaria lead the cast, joined by Cristiana Capotondi, Ornella Muti, Sofia Conti, Madior Giorgio Fall and Martina Gatti.
The company describes a family business in crisis. De Sica plays Ade, the label’s patriarch; Santamaria plays his son Carlo, who is facing pressure from the banks; and Sofia Conti plays Celeste, who brings new artists into the company. This is the announced premise of a fictional series, not a report about a real record label.
Luca Miniero is directing, and Be Water Film is producing. Netflix named Giacomo Bendotti, Stefano Bises and Davide Serino as the series creators.
Netflix has said the show is coming soon, but its November 6 announcement did not give a release date. Anyone planning to watch should wait for an official scheduling update rather than treating an unconfirmed date as settled.
The project puts three generations of performers at the center of a story about how a music business changes when family loyalties, financial pressure and new talent collide. That setup is what Netflix has described so far; no review or assessment of completed episodes is implied here.
The cover is original editorial artwork and does not depict the cast.
